How to Protect iPhone Against Apps

Continued

Apple is famous for setting high standards in privacy of its users and data security, but iPhones aren’t immune to hackers. It’s possible for criminals obtain sensitive information from many iPhone apps that collect data on a daily basis — including browsing history, personal photographs including current location, passwords.

The most effective way to safeguard your iPhone against malicious apps is to have a strong passwordone that you actually remember and don’t record somewhere (you should be doing this anyway). By turning off notifications on the lock screen will prevent strangers from accessing your private information without unlocking the phone.

If you want to take things a step further, make sure that you use the Screen Time passcode feature that allows you to set up an individual alphanumeric code or at the very least, block access to your four-digit numeric passcode, that will make it more difficult for a burglar to hack your passcode until they have it right. You can also set the function to erase all information from your iPhone after 10 failed passcode attempts. This makes your iPhone unusable to thieves, however, it could still be useless if you aren’t able to access iCloud photos and other content.

Then, consider installing a reliable mobile security app, such as Clario. It can alert you to dangerous websites, shield you from identity theft on Instagram and other social media, block annoying and potentially dangerous advertisements, improve your privacy by using an VPN and more.
